Foreign trade in goods in August 2021

In August 2021, exports of goods amounted to EUR 2.97 billion, imports – EUR 3.16 billion. Exports of goods of Lithuanian origin amounted to EUR 1.88 billion. The foreign trade deficit amounted to EUR 191.9 million.

Over a month (August 2021, against July 2021), exports increased by 8.4 per cent, imports decreased by 1.9 per cent. The increase in exports was influenced by an increase in exports of cereals (5 times), petroleum products (39.9 per cent), oil seeds and oleaginous fruits (2.6 times). The decrease in imports was determined by a decrease in imports of machinery and mechanical appliances, parts thereof (16 per cent), ground vehicles (11.9 per cent). Mineral products excluded, exports increased by 6 per cent, imports decreased by 4.5 per cent. Changes in prices for consumer goods and services in September 2021

In September 2021, against August, prices for consumer goods and services increased by 1.4 per cent. This was mainly influenced by an increase in prices for vegetables, clothing and footwear, fuels and lubricants, heat energy, tertiary education, maintenance and repair of personal transport equipment, as well as a decrease in prices for other appliances, articles and products for personal care, non-durable household articles, passenger transport by air, package holidays.

Over the month, prices for consumer goods increased by 1.6 per cent, those for consumer services – 1 per cent. Prices for consumer goods and services regulated by State and municipal authorities increased by 1.7 per cent, market prices – 1.4 per cent. More

In July 2021, exports of goods amounted to EUR 2.74 billion, imports – EUR 3.20 billion. Exports of goods of Lithuanian origin amounted to EUR 1.63 billion. The foreign trade deficit amounted to EUR 464.8 million.

Over a month (July 2021, against June 2021), exports decreased by 3.1 per cent, imports increased by 2.9 per cent. The decrease in exports was influenced by a decrease in exports of cereals (55.4 per cent), petroleum products (18.2 per cent), electrical machinery and equipment and parts thereof (12.6 per cent). The increase in imports was determined by an increase in imports of petroleum products (2.5 times), iron and steel (43.2 per cent). Mineral products excluded, exports decreased by 2.5, imports – 0.3 per cent. Changes in prices for consumer goods and services in August 2021

In August 2021, against July, prices for consumer goods and services increased by 0.4 per cent. This was mainly influenced by an increase in prices for heat energy, solid fuel, pharmaceuticals, oil and fats, milk and milk products, cheese and eggs, meat and meat products, as well as by a decrease in prices for clothing and footwear, vegetables.

In July 2021, against June, prices for consumer goods and services increased by 0.7 per cent.

This was mostly influenced by an increase in prices for solid fuel, gas, fuels and lubricants, electricity, services of restaurants, cafés and the like, other appliances, articles and products for personal care, passenger transport by air, as well as by a decrease in prices for clothing and footwear.

In June 2021, exports of goods amounted to EUR 2.82 billion, imports – EUR 3.10 billion. Exports of goods of Lithuanian origin amounted to EUR 1.70 billion. The foreign trade deficit amounted to EUR 277.6 million.

Over a month (June 2021, against May 2021), exports increased by 3.2 per cent, imports decreased by 0.2 per cent. The increase in exports was influenced by an increase in exports of petroleum products (32.4 per cent), machinery and mechanical appliances, parts thereof (13.5 per cent), and furniture (7.6 per cent). The decrease in imports was determined by a decrease in imports of crude petroleum (30.7 per cent), plants (42.1 per cent), essential oils, perfumery, cosmetics (12.3 per cent). Mineral products excluded, exports increased by 0.6 per cent, imports – 4 per cent. Gross domestic product first estimate in II quarter 2021

In II quarter 2021, country’s gross domestic product (GDP) amounted to EUR 13.0 billion at current prices. Compared to I quarter 2021, the real GDP change, seasonally and calendar adjusted, was positive and stood at 0.4 per cent.

As for GDP estimated by production approach, in II quarter 2021, the positive influence on the change in GDP was made by performance results of enterprises engaged in industry, construction, wholesale and retail trade activities. More

Foreign trade in goods in April 2021In April 2021, exports of goods amounted to EUR 2.67 billion, imports – EUR 2.93 billion. Exports of goods of Lithuanian origin amounted to EUR 1.57 billion. The foreign trade deficit amounted to EUR 259.3 million.

Over the month (April 2021, against March 2021), exports and imports decreased by 2.8 and 5.8 per cent respectively. The decrease in exports was influenced by a decrease in exports of petroleum products (23.8 per cent), miscellaneous chemical products (8.4 per cent), machinery and mechanical appliances, parts thereof (4.6 per cent). The decrease in imports was determined by a decrease in imports of crude petroleum (56.6 per cent), ground vehicles (6.9 per cent), and fertilizers (40.3 per cent). Mineral products excluded, exports decreased by 1.2, imports – 0.6 per cent. Exports of goods of Lithuanian origin decreased by 4.8 per cent, mineral products excluded – 2.9 per cent. In May 2021, against April, prices for consumer goods and services increased by 0.6 per cent.
This was mainly influenced by an increase in prices for clothing and footwear, spirits, catering services of restaurants, cafés and the like, fuels and lubricants, bread and cereal products, maintenance and repair of personal transport equipment, as well as a decrease in prices for heat energy, other personal care products, other appliances, articles and products for personal care.
