In December 2020, consumer confidence indicator increased by 1 percentage point

Statistics Lithuania informs that in December 2020, the consumer confidence indicator stood at minus 3 and, compared to November, increased by 1 percentage point, but remained by 4 percentage points lower than in October. Against November, consumers’ expectations for the household’s financial situation and for the country’s economic situation were more optimistic, but they intended to spend less on larger purchases. More

Earnings in the whole economy in III guarter 2020In III quarter 2020, gross earnings in the whole economy increased by 4 per cent.

In III quarter 2020, average gross (before employee taxes) monthly earnings in the whole economy (individual enterprises excluded) totalled EUR 1,454.8 and, compared to II quarter 2020, grew by 4 per cent: in the public sector, average gross monthly earnings totalled EUR 1,546 (increased by 2.1 per cent), in the private sector – EUR 1,414.1 (increased by 5.2 per cent). Statistics Lithuania informs that in November 2020, the consumer confidence indicator stood at minus 4 and, compared to October, decreased by 5 percentage points. Against October, the decrease in the consumer confidence indicator was determined by negative changes of its all components, while more pessimistic expectations for the country’s economic situation due to the Covid-19 had a major influence. In III quarter 2020, the unemployment rate stood at 9.3 per cent

In III quarter 2020, the unemployment rate stood at 9.3 per cent and, against II quarter 2020, it increased by 0.8 percentage points, against the respective period of 2019 – by 3.2 percentage points.

The male unemployment rate stood at 9.7, female – 8.8 per cent. In III quarter 2020, the youth (persons aged 15–24) unemployment rate stood at 23.1 per cent; over a quarter, it increased by 2 percentage points, over a year – by 12.6 percentage points. More

Consumer opinion survey results in October 2020In October 2020, consumer confidence indicator increased by 1 percentage point.

Statistics Lithuania informs that in October 2020, the consumer confidence indicator stood at 1 and, compared to September, increased by 1 percentage point. Against September, the increase in the consumer confidence indicator was determined by slightly more positive expectations of population for the household’s financial situation in the last 12 months, expectations for changes in the household’s financial situation and the country’s economic situation, however, they intended to spend less for larger purchases.
