Changes in industry in June 2021

In June 2021, industrial production totalled EUR 2.3 billion at current prices and, compared to May, seasonally and calendar adjusted, decreased by 0.2 per cent at constant prices (unadjusted – increased by 2.6 per cent).

Over the month, seasonally and calendar adjusted, a decrease in production was observed for manufacture of refined petroleum products – 3 per cent (unadjusted – increased by 0.4 per cent), wood and wood products, except furniture – 0.9 per cent (unadjusted – increased by 2.2 per cent), basic metals – 11.8 per cent (unadjusted – 16.7 per cent), electrical equipment – 7.5 per cent (unadjusted – 3.8 per cent), chemicals and chemical products – 4.9 per cent (unadjusted – 4.6 per cent), fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment – 4.2 per cent (unadjusted – increased by 2.4 per cent), machinery and equipment n.e.c. – 4.1 per cent (unadjusted – 2.2 per cent). More

In June 2021, economic sentiment indicator increased

In June 2021, compared to May, the economic sentiment indicator, i.e. confidence of economic actors – producers, consumers and investors – in Lithuania's economy, grew by 1 percentage point and stood at 7 per cent.

The survey results showed that the situation caused by the COVID-19 pandemic is gradually improving: the proportion of respondents stating that their business activity was limited due to the quarantine decreased from 28 (in May) to 24 per cent. The quarantine affected the most the retail trade (30 per cent; a month ago – 36 per cent) and service sector (32 per cent; a month ago – 37 per cent), while industry (11 per cent; a month ago – 13 per cent) and construction (12 per cent; a month ago – 17 per cent) were less affected. Turnover of retail trade and catering enterprises in May 2021Over May, with the easing of the COVID-19 quarantine requirements, the turnover of retail trade enterprises increased by 1.7 per cent, that of food and beverage service enterprises – by 15.3 per cent.

Based on provisional data, in May 2021, the turnover (VAT excluded) of retail trade enterprises amounted to EUR 1 billion 252 million at current prices, and against April 2021, seasonally and calendar adjusted, increased by 1.7 per cent at constant prices.

Over the month, the turnover of enterprises trading in food products, seasonally and calendar adjusted, decreased by 1.4 per cent, of those trading in non-food products – increased by 2.5 per cent, of those engaged in retail trade of automotive fuel increased by 5.5 per cent at constant prices. Changes in industry in May 2021

In May 2021, industrial production totalled EUR 2.2 billion at current prices and, compared to April, seasonally and calendar adjusted, increased by 7.7 per cent at constant prices (unadjusted – 4.1 per cent).

Over the month, seasonally and calendar adjusted, an increase in production was observed for the manufacture of refined petroleum products – 77.3 per cent (unadjusted – 71.5 per cent), metal products, except machinery and equipment – 5.2 per cent (unadjusted – 8 per cent), manufacture of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers – 3.9 per cent (unadjusted – by 0.1 per cent), manufacture of textiles – 3.6 per cent (unadjusted – 1.4 per cent), chemicals and chemical products – 6.3 per cent (unadjusted – decreased by 4.8 per cent). Turnover of retail trade and catering enterprises in April 2021Over April, with the easing of the COVID-19 quarantine requirements, the turnover of retail trade enterprises increased by 3.7 per cent, that of food and beverage service enterprises – by 13.3 per cent.

Based on provisional data, in April 2021, the turnover (VAT excluded) of retail trade enterprises amounted to EUR 1 billion 180 million at current prices, and against March 2021, seasonally and calendar adjusted, increased by 3.7 per cent at constant prices. More

 
     
 

Statistics on accommodation services in the country in I quarter 2021

In I quarter 2021, accommodation establishments accommodated 122.6 thousand tourists, which is by 77.3 per cent less than in the same period of 2020. The number of foreign tourists accommodated totalled 40.3 thousand (by 82.3 per cent less), the number of Lithuania’s residents – 82.3 thousand (by 73.7 per cent less).

In January 2021 the country’s accommodation establishments received by 85.5 per cent, in February – by 82 per cent, in March – by 50.7 per cent less tourists than in the respective months in 2020. More

Changes in industry in April 2021

In April 2021, industrial production totalled EUR 2.1 billion at current prices and, compared to March, seasonally and calendar adjusted, decreased by 2.4 per cent at constant prices (unadjusted – 7.9 per cent).

Over the month, seasonally and calendar adjusted, a decrease in production was observed for manufacture of refined petroleum products – 33.9 per cent (unadjusted – 30.1 per cent), manufacture of beverages – 4 per cent (unadjusted – 1.8 per cent), manufacture of food products – 3.7 per cent (unadjusted – 13.7 per cent), repair and installation of machinery and equipment– 1.9 per cent (unadjusted – 9.3 per cent), manufacture of textiles – 1.5 per cent (unadjusted – 3 per cent).
