Eurostat’s visit concerning HICP compliance monitoring
On 5 April 2023, State Data Agency (Statistics Lithuania) was visited by the Statistical Office of the European Union (Eurostat) regarding monitoring the compliance of the Harmonised Index of Consumer Prices (HICP).
During the meeting, organization of price statistics in Lithuania was presented. Specific issues of HICP calculation, such as coverage, classification, sampling and representativeness, index calculation and specific products and services (natural gas, new and second-hand cars, flights, telecom services) were discussed. At the end of the meeting, trends of HICP were talked over.
