Among other priorities The State Data Agency strategy for 2023–2027 focuses on the 3rd direction “Ensure symbiotic partnership“, which envisages active participation in the development of the global statistics and EU legislative process, strengthening of communication and cooperation on the global arena / international scale, and sharing of best practices thereof.
The Baltic Steering Committee meeting in 2018 hosted in Lithuania
The Baltic Steering Committee for Statistics was established in 1996, since then annual meetings take place on a rotation basis in one of the Baltic countries.
In May 2018, Statistics Lithuania had an honour to host the 26th Baltic Steering Committee meeting in Lithuania with the top management as well as heads of International relations of the statistical offices of Estonia and Latvia participating at the meeting. They discussed topical issues of common interest, exchanged best practices and informed on latest developments and finalised the meeting with signing a cooperation plan for the period of 2018/2019.
Following the previous year plan specialists from the statistical offices of the Baltic met to discuss regional and urban statistics, price statistics, population census, demography and migration statistics, environment statistics, SDGs, statistical quality issues. Four of twelve meetings were held in Lithuania.
