Among other priorities The State Data Agency strategy for 2023–2027 focuses on the 3rd direction “Ensure symbiotic partnership“, which envisages active participation in the development of the global statistics and EU legislative process, strengthening of communication and cooperation on the global arena / international scale, and sharing of best practices thereof.
59th World Statistics Congress
On August 24–29, Director General of Statistics Lithuania Vilija Lapėnienė participated in the 59th World Statistics Congress in Hong Kong. The Congress was organised by the International Statistical Institute (ISI) on a biennial basis.
Ms Lapėnienė represented Lithuania, chairing the EU Council Working Party on Statistics, with a presentation entitled "How ISO-based quality management system helps to monitor and ensure quality in statistics", and participated in the ISI General Assembly meeting as in March 2013 she was elected ISI member.
The World Statistics Congress is attended by heads of statistical offices, researchers and users of statistics from all around the world to share experience and opinions relevant to statistics today.
