Among other priorities The State Data Agency strategy for 2023–2027 focuses on the 3rd direction “Ensure symbiotic partnership“, which envisages active participation in the development of the global statistics and EU legislative process, strengthening of communication and cooperation on the global arena / international scale, and sharing of best practices thereof.
Delegation from the incoming Lithuanian Presidency in Statistics visited Eurostat
A delegation from the incoming Lithuanian Presidency in Statistics visited Eurostat on 19 June 2013, shortly before starting activities on 1 July 2013.
The delegation from Statistics Lithuania was headed by Mr. Jonas Markelevičius, 1st Deputy Director General, who will be chairing the Council Working Party on Statistics during the Lithuanian Presidency. The delegation met with Mr. Walter Radermacher, Director General of Eurostat, Ms. Marie Bohatá, Deputy Director General, the heads of Eurostat Directorates. The plans and priorities of the Lithuanian Presidency for the second half of 2013 were outlined and discussed.
The meeting was followed by a series of bilateral talks with the experts from Eurostat Units in charge of the legislative dossiers currently under discussion or expected to be initiated during the Lithuanian Presidency.
Other members of the delegation were:
- Mrs. Audronė Miškinienė, Head of European Affairs and International Co-operation Division, future Co-chair;
- Mrs. Irida Žibūdienė, Head of Legal Division;
- Mrs. Gailutė Juškienė, Head of National Accounts Division;
- Mrs. Aušra Jablonskienė, Head of Agricultural and Environmental Statistics Division.
