Among other priorities The State Data Agency strategy for 2023–2027 focuses on the 3rd direction “Ensure symbiotic partnership“, which envisages active participation in the development of the global statistics and EU legislative process, strengthening of communication and cooperation on the global arena / international  scale, and sharing of best practices thereof.

The EU financed twinning project “Support to the State Statistical Committee and the State Tax Service under the Ministry of Economy of Azerbaijan” was officially launched


The EU twinning project “Support to the State Statistical Committee and the State Tax Service under the Ministry of Economy of Azerbaijan to strengthen collection, harmonization, analysis, publishing and dissemination of business statistics” funded by the European Union was officially launched by the kick-off event on 29 September 2020, via videoconference.

The project is jointly implemented by the Statistics Finland (Project Leader), Statistics Lithuania and Statistics Netherlands (Project Junior Partners).

The meeting was attended by high-level representatives invited: Mr Rauf Salimov, Deputy Chairman of the State Statistical Committee of Azerbaijan; Ms Simona Gatti, Minister-Counsellor/Head of Cooperation of the EU Delegation in Azerbaijan; Ms Kirsti Narinen, on behalf of the Director General, Senior Advisor on South Caucasus (Finland); Mr Egidijus Navikas, Ambassador of Lithuania to Azerbaijan; Ms Zumreta Jahic, Chargé D’Affairs of the Netherlands to Azerbaijan; Mr. Timo Koskimäki, Director, International Affairs, Statistics Finland; Ms (Dr) Jūratė Petrauskienė, Director General of Statistics Lithuania.

The overall objective of the twinning project is to increase capacity among local operators to collect, process, harmonise, analyse, publish and disseminate business statistics measuring the performance of the private sector in Azerbaijan.
