In the frame of STEP (Statistics through Eastern Partnership programe), on 7 July, online seminar on gender statistics was organised for the representatives of the NSIs of  Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine with the participation of experts from EIGE (the European Institute for Gender Equality), the Office of the Equal Opportunities Ombudsperson of the Republic of Lithuania, UN Women Regional Office for Europe and Central Asia, Paris 21 Secretariat and Statistics Lithuania, who presented their experience in producing gender statistics.

During the seminar, 32 participants from ENP-East countries were introduced with the experience in Measuring Gender Equality: Gender Equality Index; Gender Equality Ruler and Equal Opportunities Ruler, statistical monitoring mechanism for gender mainstreaming in Lithuania at municipal level; use of administrative data to fill in gender data gap; mainstreaming gender perspectives in the national strategies for the development of statistics. Statistics Lithuania presented its experience in producing gender statistics and SDGs.

The workshop went quite well. Participants actively participated in a number of interesting discussions on the matters of particular concern, such as gender statistics, issues related to communication and dissemination, as well as planning future activities in the above mentioned field.
