Among other priorities The State Data Agency strategy for 2023–2027 focuses on the 3rd direction “Ensure symbiotic partnership“, which envisages active participation in the development of the global statistics and EU legislative process, strengthening of communication and cooperation on the global arena / international scale, and sharing of best practices thereof.
Visit of the representatives of the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia
On October21–22, the specialists from the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia visited Statistics Lithuania. It was a study visit.
The visit focussed on the issues related to the compilation of the harmonised index of consumer prices (HICP), which is methodologically harmonised across the EU. Statistics Lithuania shared its experience in the implementation of EU regulations. The discussion also covered the documentation of the HICP calculation and dissemination, compilation process.
The specialists focussed on the specific and technical issues related to the HICP: organisation of the price data collection and checking process, sampling, classification, treatment of seasonal products, methods of price recalculation due to quality changes, preparation of a weighting system.
The calculation of the house price and owner-occupied housing price indices, HICP at constant tax rates, HICP of administered prices was also presented.
