Among other priorities The State Data Agency strategy for 2023–2027 focuses on the 3rd direction “Ensure symbiotic partnership“, which envisages active participation in the development of the global statistics and EU legislative process, strengthening of communication and cooperation on the global arena / international  scale, and sharing of best practices thereof.

Virtual training course on the improvement of the production and dissemination of good quality statistics from Statistics through Eastern Partnership programme (STEP)


Within the framework of the programme “Statistics through Eastern Partnership (STEP)”, on 30 September –2 October 2020, experts of Statistics Lithuania together with a colleague from the National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies of France (INSEE) carry out a training course on the improvement of  the production and dissemination of good quality statistics in the partner countries for colleagues from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine.

Quality policy is high on the agenda of all partner NSIs, but quality procedures are unevenly developed across the region.

This training course is aimed at training the staff involved in quality procedures in the national statistical institute and other producers of official statistics in the following areas: quality terminology; process mapping; Generic Statistical Business Process Model (GSBPM); quality tools (Fishbones, risks analysis); standards (ISO); implementation of the European Statistical Code of Practice.

During this training, experience and best practices of Lithuania and France will be provided to show different approaches to quality management, best practices of the partner countries will be presented, and next steps for partner countries to improve quality management will be identified.

On 17 November 2020, this training is planned to be followed up by round table discussion on what partner countries have done since the training ended.
