Statistics Lithuania informs that in March 2018, average annual inflation calculated based on the harmonised index of consumer prices (HICP), which is methodologically harmonised with those of other EU member states, stood at 3.7 per cent and was by 0.2 percentage points lower than that calculated based on the consumer price index (CPI).
Statistics Lithuania informs that in March 2018, against February, prices for the total industrial production sold decreased by 0.14 per cent, refined petroleum products excluded – increased by 0.2 per cent.
Statistics Lithuania informs that in March 2018, against February, prices for consumer goods and services increased by 0.4 per cent. This was mainly influenced by an increase in prices for clothing, footwear, tobacco products, beer, as well as by a decrease in prices for fuels, oil and fats, coffee and cocoa.
Statistics Lithuania informs that, based on non-final data obtained from customs declarations, Intrastat reporting and VAT returns data, exports in February 2018 amounted to 2.05 billion, imports – EUR 2.28 billion. Exports of goods of Lithuanian origin amounted to EUR 1.24 billion. The foreign trade deficit of Lithuania amounted to EUR 0.22 billion.
