2024-11-12 Changes in prices for industrial production sold In October 2024, against September, prices for the total industrial production sold increased by 0.3 per cent, refined petroleum products excluded – decreased by 0.2 per cent. The overall price change was mainly influenced by an increase in prices for refined petroleum products (3.7 per cent), as well as by a decrease in prices for electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (1.5 per cent).
2024-11-12 Changes in prices calculated based on harmonised index of consumer prices In October 2024, according to the harmonised index of consumer prices (HICP), which is methodologically harmonised with those of other EU member states, the calculated: average annual inflation stood at 0.9 per cent, average annual inflation calculated based on the consumer price index (CPI) – at 0.7 per cent; annual inflation (October 2024, against October 2023) stood at 0.1 per cent, the CPI-based one – 0.3 per cent. Annual inflation calculated based on the HICP was mainly influenced by an increase in prices recorded for services of restaurants, cafés and the like, pharmaceutical products, tobacco, package holidays, maintenance and repair of personal transport equipment, other financial services n.e.c., as well as by a decrease in prices observed for fuels and lubricants, electricity, gas, solid fuels, other appliances, articles and products for personal care. change in prices for consumer goods and services in October 2024, compared to September 2024, the same as the CPI-based one, stood at 0.1 per cent.

This was mainly influenced by an increase in prices recorded for clothing and footwear, heat energy, fuels and lubricants, non-durable household goods, as well as by a decrease in prices observed for electricity, package holidays, accommodation, passenger transport by air.
2024-11-08 International trade in goods in September 2024 In September 2024, exports of goods amounted to EUR 3.25 billion, imports – EUR 3.43 billion. Exports of goods of Lithuanian origin amounted to EUR 2.16 billion. The international trade in goods deficit amounted to EUR 176 million. Over the month (September 2024, against August 2024) exports increased by 1.3 per cent, imports decreased by 3.5 per cent. The increase in exports was influenced by an increase in exports of edible vegetables (2.2 times), wood and articles of wood (16.9 per cent), electrical machinery and equipment and parts thereof (6.5 per cent). The decrease in imports was determined by a decrease in imports of mineral fuels, mineral oils and products of their distillation (26 per cent), organic chemicals (43.8 per cent), fertilizers (54.8 per cent). Mineral products excluded, exports increased by 2.6 per cent, imports – 2.2 per cent. Exports of goods of Lithuanian origin decreased by 2.3 per cent, mineral products excluded, increased by 1.1 per cent.
2024-11-04 Employment and unemployment in III quarter 2024 In III quarter 2024, the unemployment rate stood at 6.8 per cent. State Data Agency (Statistics Lithuania) informs that based on data of the Labour Force Survey, in III quarter 2024, the unemployment rate stood at 6.8 per cent and, compared to II quarter 2024, decreased by 0.1 percentage point, compared to III quarter 2023 – increased by 0.6 per cent. In III quarter 2024, the male unemployment rate stood at 7.7, female – 5.9 per cent. The youth (persons aged 15–24) unemployment rate stood at 19.6 per cent and over a quarter increased by 2.7 percentage points, over a year – by 7.7 percentage points. The long-term unemployment rate increased by 0.3 percentage points over a quarter and stood at 2.2 per cent in II quarter 2024, while compared to the respective period of 2023, it increased by 0.4 percentage points.
2024-10-30 Gross domestic product first estimate In III quarter 2024, the country’s gross domestic product (GDP) amounted to EUR 20.7 billion at current prices. The estimate was obtained through application of econometric models based on available statistical data. Compared to II quarter 2024, the real GDP change, seasonally and calendar adjusted, was positive and stood at 1.1 per cent.
