This autumn, the European Statistics Day was celebrated for the third time. The celebration of this day is an occasion to raise awareness of the European citizens to the importance and value of official statistics for the society. This year, the slogan of the European Statistics Day is “Statistics today for better tomorrow”.

By continuing promoting more accessible and understandable statistics for the society, Statistics Lithuania organized a seminar “Beautiful Statistics. Visualization Theory and Practice” which was held at Martynas Mažvydas National Library of Lithuania on 30 November. During the seminar, the presentations were aimed at visually attractive way of presenting statistical information which leads to attracting new users, encouraging discussions and bringing additional added value.
