Discussions on perspectives and experiences of change at the international conference of statisticians


On 4-6 April 2023, Dr Jūratė Petrauskienė, Director General of State Data Agency (Statistics Lithuania), is participating in the 17th International Association for Official Statistics Conference and 3rd International Statistical Institute Regional Statistics Conference "Better Lives 2030: Mobilizing the Power of Data for Africa and the World" (in Livingstone, Zambia).

The focus of the Conference is on the perspectives of official statistics, promoting innovation and partnership, strengthening the capacities of the African region related to official statistics, sustainable development goals, data governance, methodological issues, the use of statistics in decision-making, etc. Dr Jūratė Petrauskienė presented Lithuania's experience and aspirations in the session "Data Management and Official Statistics: European Perspective", and moderated the session dedicated to health statistics research.

The International Association for Official Statistics was founded in 1985. It is an international non-governmental organization that unites official statistics professionals worldwide. The Association aims to promote the understanding of official statistics and its effective progress and development through international contacts of individuals and organizations, including users of official statistics and scientific institutions.
