Lithuanian statistics celebrates the 100th anniversary

On 6 September, Lithuanian statistics celebrates the 100th anniversary. A lot has changed over a hundred years: people, technologies, political systems; however, the essence has remained the same. Statistics was and continues to be the most powerful means of knowing reality for both the State and its citizens.

Today official statistics is produced and disseminated through the application of innovative solutions and corresponds to the changing user needs, the resources are used rationally, statistical reporting burden is managed.

Statistical data are used in various activities. Reliable and objective statistical information allows assessing demographic, social and economic situation and developments in the country, business activity and prospects of new business.
