On July 26, Statistics Lithuania hosted a meeting with the representatives of the Ministry of the Social Security and Labour – Head of the Gender Equality Division Vanda Juršėnienė and specialist Vaida Sidabraitė – and an expert from the European Institute for Gender Equality Jolanta Reingardė on a draft legal act on the enhancement of the efficiency of institutional mechanisms in the field of gender equality, under discussion during the Lithuanian Presidency of the Council.

In the meeting, the main statistical concepts used in the draft legal act and a statistical indicator which would enable a closer monitoring of the implementation of the Beijing Platform for Action in the EU Member States were discussed.

The meeting was attended by the Deputy Director General of Statistics Lithuania Dalia Ambrozaitienė, Head of the Strategic Planning and Official Statistics Programme Division Daiva Jurelevičienė, Head of the Demographic and Migration Statistics Division Inga Masiulaitytė-Šukevič, and Chief Specialist of the latter division Sigutė Litvinavičienė.
