In 2025, commercial banks’ net interest income amounted to €2.146 billion, €103 million less than in 2024, and contributed to net profit of €1.037 billion, compared with €1 billion in 2024.

In 2026, the preliminary at-risk-of-poverty rate in the country made up 20 per cent and, against 2025, decreased by 2.6 percentage points.

In July 2026, the number of dismissed employees amounted to 51.4 thousand and, against June 2026, decreased by 8.5 thousand, the number of hired employees decreased by 7.9 thousand and stood at 54.9 thousand.

At the end of July 2026, the number of newly registered passenger cars totalled 17,090, that is by 2,924, or 20.6 per cent, more than in the same period in 2025, of which, 4,787 new cars, i.e., by 1,071, or 28.8 per cent, more.
