2026-08-11 Changes in prices calculated based on harmonised index of consumer prices In July 2026, according to the harmonised index of consumer prices (HICP), which is methodologically harmonised with those of other EU member states, the calculated: average annual inflation stood at 4.1 per cent, average annual inflation calculated based on the Consumer Price Index (CPI) stood at 4.5 per cent; annual inflation (July 2026, against July 2025) stood at 5.4 per cent, the CPI-based one – 5.9 per cent. Annual inflation calculated based on the HICP was mainly influenced by an increase in prices recorded for heat energy, petrol, diesel, maintenance and repair of personal transport equipment, catering services of restaurants, cafés and the like, cigarettes, electricity, wood fuel, including pellets and briquettes, spirits and liquors, package holidays, medicines, vaccines and other pharmaceutical preparations, plants, seeds and flowers, as well as by a decrease in prices observed for equipment for the reception, recording and reproduction of sound and vision, preparations of meat, offal, second-hand motor cars, fruit-bearing vegetables, fresh or chilled, stone fruits and pome fruits, fresh, other games, toys and hobby-related articles, parts of personal transport equipment; change in prices for consumer goods and services in July 2026, compared to June, stood at 0.1 per cent, the CPI-based one – at 0.2 per cent.
