Winners of the European Statistics Competition 2023 announced


The European Statistics Competition 2023 has ended. The sixth edition of this statistical literacy contest was attended by over 19 thousand students from 19 countries. The Competition was held in two rounds: national and European. After a challenging national phase, the winning teams from each participating country participated in the European final where they had the assignment to make short videos about well-being based on official statistics. A jury of European experts assessed 63 submissions and chose the top 5 videos in both the age group 14–16 and the age group 16–18. The students impressed the jurors with their creativity and the quality of their work. This year, outstanding skills were demonstrated by team AFS_GR_1 (Greece) who won the contest in the junior age group (14–16), while in the senior age group (16–18), the first prize went to team KOMPOT (Slovenia).

In the European final, Lithuania was represented by the following teams: in the junior category – Kaunas Maironis University Gymnasium team 2J, in the senior category – Panevėžys Juozas Balčikonis Gymnasium team JBG2 and Kaunas “Saulė” Gymnasium team GAIA.

In the junior age group (14–16), the top 5 winning teams:

In the senior age group (16–18), the top 5 winning teams:

  5. JASEJA (Slovakia)
