Among other priorities The State Data Agency strategy for 2023–2027 focuses on the 3rd direction “Ensure symbiotic partnership“, which envisages active participation in the development of the global statistics and EU legislative process, strengthening of communication and cooperation on the global arena / international  scale, and sharing of best practices thereof.

Statistics Lithuania continues cooperation with colleagues from Azerbaijan through the Twinning project


A joint proposal by Statistics Finland (lead partner), Statistics Lithuania and Statistics Netherlands (junior partners) has been awarded a contract for the Twinning project “Support to the State Statistical Committee and the State Tax service under the Ministry of Economy to strengthen collection, harmonization, analysis, publishing and dissemination of business statistics”. This was announced by the Letter of Acceptance on 14 April, 2020.

The objective of this two-year project is to increase capacity among local operators to collect, process, harmonise, analyse, publish and disseminate business statistics measuring the performance of the private sector/SMEs in Azerbaijan.

Statistics Lithuania experts will convey experience in transition from the planned to market economy via adjustment of related statistical processes in business statistics.

Cooperation between Statistics Lithuania and the State Statistical Committee of the Republic Azerbaijan started in 2008. It has long cooperation traditions in various statistical domains. The most recent project, to which experts of Statistics Lithuania contributed, was a 2-year project “EU support to the State Statistical Committee of the Republic Azerbaijan (SSC) to reach European Standards”, which ended in January 2020.
