In March 2025, there were 203 road traffic accidents in which people were injured, which is by 28.5 per cent more than in the same period of 2024, accordingly, by 37.7 per cent more injured, by 14.3 per cent deaths.

The experimental job vacancy (JV) indicator, calculated by enterprise size groups and EVRK Rev. 2 classification, shows significant growth – the total number of job vacancies in March 2025, compared to February, increased by 23 per cent.

In February 2025, average gross (before employee taxes) monthly earnings (individual enterprises excluded) in the whole economy amounted to EUR 2,291.2 and, against the same period of 2024, increased by 9 per cent.

At the end of March 2025, the number of newly registered passenger cars totalled 11,866, that is by 1,329, or 12.6 per cent, more than in the same period in 2024.

In February 2025, compared to January 2025, the prices for exported goods increased by 0.9 per cent, those for imported goods – 0.7 per cent.

2025-04-09 Changes in prices calculated based on harmonised index of consumer prices In March 2025, according to the harmonised index of consumer prices (HICP), which is methodologically harmonised with those of other EU member states, the calculated: average annual inflation, the same as calculated according to the Consumer Price Index (CPI), stood at 1.5 per cent; annual inflation (March 2025, against March 2024) stood at 3.7 per cent, the CPI-based one – 4.1 per cent. Annual inflation calculated based on the HICP was mainly influenced by an increase in prices recorded for heat energy, services of restaurants, cafés and the like, milk, cheese and eggs, tobacco products, spirits, package holidays, pharmaceutical products, meat, maintenance and repair of personal transport equipment, beer, coffee, tea and cocoa, as well as by a decrease in prices observed for gas, electricity, passenger transport by air; change in prices for consumer goods and services in March 2025, compared to February, stood at 0.4 per cent, the same as calculated according to the CPI-based one.
2025-04-08 Changes in prices for consumer goods and services In March 2025, against February, prices for consumer goods and services increased by 0.4 per cent. This was mainly influenced by an increase in prices for clothing, milk and milk products, cheese and eggs, electricity, footwear, vegetables, telephone services, as well as a decrease in prices for fuels and lubricants, heat energy, non-durable household articles.

The State Data Agency (Statistics Lithuania) informs that based on provisional data, in 2024, general government deficit amounted to EUR 1 billion 6 million, or 1.3 per cent of gross domestic product (GDP). In 2023, general government deficit was EUR 507.6 million, or 0.7 per cent of GDP.
