State Data Agency (Statistics Lithuania) informs that based on data of the Labour Force Survey, in I quarter 2024, the unemployment rate stood at 8.2 per cent and, compared to IV quarter 2023, increased by 0.8 percentage point, compared to I quarter 2023 – increased by 0.5 percentage point. In I quarter 2024, the male unemployment rate stood at 8.3, female – 8 per cent. The youth (persons aged 15–24) unemployment rate stood at 14.6 per cent and over a quarter decreased by 3.7 percentage points, over a year – by 1.5 percentage points. The long-term unemployment rate increased by 0.1 percentage point over a quarter and stood at 2.4 per cent in I quarter 2024, while compared to the respective period of 2023, it decreased by 0.6 percentage point.
2024-04-30 Gross domestic product first estimate In I quarter 2024, the country’s gross domestic product (GDP) amounted to EUR 17.1 billion at current prices. The estimate was obtained through application of econometric models based on available statistical data. Compared to IV quarter 2023, the real GDP change, seasonally and calendar adjusted, was positive and stood at 0.8 per cent.
