On 5 January, Statistics Lithuania and Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (VGTU) signed a cooperation agreement in the field of scientific, educational and social partnership: preparing and carrying out scientific research, initiating and implementing joint projects, sharing information, organising traineeships for the students of Vilnius Gediminas Technical University, organising and participating in scientific conferences and seminars, participating in the activities of research infrastructures, and implementing other activities complying with the activities and interests of both parties.

It is the fourth agreement between Statistics Lithuania and a higher education institution. Statistics Lithuania has already signed cooperation agreements with Kaunas University of Technology, Vilnius University and Vytautas Magnus University.

"Our university is directly related with exact sciences such as statistics. In our opinion, cooperation with Statistics Lithuania will be useful both our students and scientists", said the Rector of Vilnius Gediminas Technical Universtity Alfonsas Daniūnas.

"We continue our cooperation with universities. Such agreements are useful for both parties", said the Director General of Statistics Lithuania Vilija Lapėnienė.
