Construction input materials and articles price index forecast for September – 120.1.

2024-10-10 International trade in goods in August 2024 In August 2024, exports of goods amounted to EUR 3.21 billion, imports – EUR 3.55 billion. Exports of goods of Lithuanian origin amounted to EUR 2.20 billion. The international trade in goods deficit amounted to EUR 341.1 million. Over the month (August 2024, against July 2024) exports increased by 3.9 per cent, imports decreased by 5.2 per cent. The increase in exports was influenced by an increase in exports of cereals (3 times), oil seeds and oleaginous fruits (2.3 times), fertilizers (76.2 per cent). The decrease in imports was determined by decrease in imports of machinery and mechanical appliances and parts thereof (19.8 per cent), mineral fuels, mineral oils and products of their distillation (7.3 per cent), iron and steel (24.8 per cent). Mineral products excluded, exports increased by 5.4 per cent, imports decreased by 4.9 per cent. Exports of goods of Lithuanian origin increased by 9.4 per cent, mineral products excluded – 10.3 per cent.
2024-10-09 Changes in prices for industrial production sold In September 2024, against August, prices for the total industrial production sold decreased by 1 per cent, refined petroleum products excluded – increased by 0.3 per cent. The overall price change was mainly influenced by decrease in prices for refined petroleum products (8 per cent), as well as by an increase in prices for electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (2.6 per cent).
2024-10-09 Changes in prices calculated based on harmonised index of consumer prices In September 2024, according to the harmonised index of consumer prices (HICP), which is methodologically harmonised with those of other EU member states, the calculated: average annual inflation stood at 1.2 per cent, average annual inflation calculated based on the consumer price index (CPI) – at 0.9 per cent; annual inflation (September 2024, against September 2023) stood at 0.4 per cent, the CPI-based one – 0.5 per cent. Annual inflation calculated based on the HICP was mainly influenced by an increase in prices recorded for services of restaurants, cafés and the like, pharmaceutical products, tobacco, package holidays, accommodation services, other financial services n.e.c., as well as by a decrease in prices observed for fuels and lubricants, solid fuels, gas, electricity, other appliances, articles and products for personal care. change in prices for consumer goods and services in September 2024, compared to August 2024, stood at 0.4 per cent, the CPI-based one – at 0.3 per cent.
2024-10-08 Annual aggregates of national accounts The State Data Agency (Statistics Lithuania) informs that in 2024 benchmark and annual (routine) revisions of national accounts indicators have been carried out. These revisions have impacted all the components of gross domestic product (GDP) and affected the indicators growth rates. The revised time series for 1995-2022 was published on the Official Statistics Portal on 1 October 2024.
