Based on provisional data, at the beginning of January 2025, 2 million 897 thousand residents were living in Lithuania, which is by 11.5 thousand more than at the beginning of the 2024.

As of 1 January 2025, there were 227,810 registered economic entities in Lithuania, of these, 151,868 (excluding natural persons engaged in economic activity) were operating.

Compared to December 2023, economic sentiment indicator increased by 6.7 percentage points. The services confidence indicator increased by 12.2, construction – 5.8, consumer – 4.5, industry – 4.2, retail trade – 3.1 percentage points.

In January 2025, the minimum monthly wage is EUR 1,038, the minimum hourly pay – EUR 6.35.

This was mainly influenced by an increase in prices for passenger transport by air services, fuels and lubricants, milk and milk products, cheese and eggs, catering services of restaurants, cafés and the like, as well as by a decrease in prices for clothing and footwear, vegetables, other appliances, articles and products for personal care, toys, games and hobbies, electricity, spirits, fruit.

Based on provisional data, in November 2024, the turnover (VAT excluded) of retail trade enterprises amounted to EUR 1 billion 657 million at current prices and, against October 2024, seasonally and calendar adjusted, increased by 0.6 per cent at constant prices.
