2025-01-10 Changes in prices calculated based on harmonised index of consumer prices In December 2024, according to the harmonised index of consumer prices (HICP), which is methodologically harmonised with those of other EU member states, the calculated: average annual inflation stood at 0.9 per cent, average annual inflation calculated based on the consumer price index (CPI) – at 0.7 per cent; annual inflation (December 2024, against December 2023) stood at 1.9 per cent, the CPI-based one – 2.1 per cent. Annual inflation calculated based on the HICP was mainly influenced by an increase in prices recorded for services of restaurants, cafés and the like, heat energy, pharmaceutical products, package holidays, tobacco, milk, cheese and eggs, maintenance and repair of personal transport equipment, canteens, other financial services n.e.c., medical, dental services, as well as by a decrease in prices observed for electricity, gas, solid fuels, vegetables, garments, fuels and lubricants. change in prices for consumer goods and services in December 2024, compared to November 2024, the same as the CPI-based one, stood at 0.2 per cent.
