Modernization of the Official Statistics Portal (OSP) Services and the Development of New Digital Solutions for Administrative Services

 

The State Data Agency (Statistics Lithuania) is implementing the project “Modernization of the Official Statistics Portal (OSP) Services and Development of New Digital Solutions for Administrative Services”, No. 02‑110‑P‑0007.

Problem Addressed by the Project

The fragmentation of public sector data, limited access to metadata, and inconsistent data quality and presentation standards. Currently, data is published across numerous separate portals, making it difficult for users to easily access and understand the available data.


Project Objective

To create a “one-stop-shop” mechanism that enables the public dissemination of all public sector data, including official statistics, while ensuring the accessibility of this data and its reusability.


Planned Activities (Sub-Activities)

  • Modernization of the functionality of the Official Statistics Portal

  • Development of a catalogue for data, data products, and inventoried metadata

  • Creation of a new administrative service ordering module

  • Updating the user interface and integrating artificial intelligence solutions

  • Adapting the Portal for accessibility to persons with disabilities

  • Strengthening cybersecurity and enhancing system stability

  • Implementing open-source solutions and standardizing documentation


Anticipated Results

  • Modernized Official Statistics Portal providing centralized access to all public sector data production

  • Improved user experience for data search and ordering

  • Newly developed solutions enabling more efficient use of public sector data for analytics, scientific research, innovation, and the improvement of public services


The project is funded under the Economic Recovery and Resilience Plan “New Generation Lithuania” and the European Union – NextGenerationEU.

The project is administered by the Central Project Management Agency.
