• The compilation of net expenditure on social protection benefits is based on Regulation (EU) No 263/2011 implementing Regulation (EC) No 458/2007 on the European system of integrated social protection statistics (ESSPROS) as regards the launch of full data collection for the ESSPROS module on net social protection benefits and is described in the ESSPROS Manual.

• The compilation of information on social protection expenditure and receipts is based on Regulation (EC) No 10/2008 of 8 January 2008 implementing Regulation (EC) No 458/2007 on the European system of integrated social protection statistics (ESSPROS) as regards the definitions, detailed classifications and updating of the rules for dissemination for the ESSPROS core system and the module on pension beneficiaries and is described in the ESSPROS Manual.
