In 2023, 20.6 thousand babies were born. Compared to 2022, the number of live births decreased by 1.4 thousand, or 6.5 per cent.

In April 2024, against the same period in 2023, the share of cargo transported by rail decreased by 9.2 per cent, cargo turnover dropped by 9.9 per cent.

In I quarter 2024, compared to the same period in 2023, passenger transport by all modes of transport increased by 4.5, the turnover of passenger transport – 5 per cent.

In April 2024, compared to the same period in 2023, the share of economic entities with at least one employed person increased by 6.7 per cent.

In October 2023, in the Capital Region, the number of female employees exceeded that of male employees (the number of women amounted to 269 thousand, that of men – 266 thousand), and in the Central and Western Lithuania Region, the number of male employees exceeded that of female employees (the number of women amounted to 323 thousand, that of men – 344 thousand).
