In 2020, there were 16.6 thousand job vacancies for employees. Compared to 2019, the number of job vacancies decreased by 1.7 thousand (9.5 per cent). Over the year, a decrease in the number of job vacancies was recorded in industry (by 1.5 thousand), trade (0.8 thousand), accommodation and food service activities (0.3 thousand), while an increase – transport and storage (1.3 thousand).
In 2020, the job vacancy rate in the country stood at 1.3 per cent and was by 0.1 percentage point lower than in the previous year.

In 2020, the highest number of job vacancies by economic activity was registered in transport and storage – 3.1 thousand (18.9 per cent of the total number of job vacancies), industry – 2.9 thousand (17.8 per cent), public administration and defence, compulsory social security – 2.6 thousand (15.9 per cent).

The highest job vacancy rate by economic activity was registered in public administration and defence, compulsory social security (3.2 per cent), transport and storage (2.2 per cent), information and communication (2.1 per cent), and the lowest – in other service and accommodation and food service activities (0.3 per cent in each).
