The statistical survey on waste generation and management in agriculture, forestry and fishing is based on Regulation (EC) No 2150/2002 on waste statistics and is described in the Manual on Waste Statistics.

The statistical survey on environmental protection expenditure is based on Regulation (EU) No 538/2014 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 16 April 2014 amending Regulation (EU) No 691/2011 on European environmental economic accounts and is described in the Environmental Expenditure Statistics: General Government and Specialised Producers Data Collection Handbook, Environmental Expenditure Statistics: Industry Data Collection Handbook, and the OECD/Eurostat Environmental Protection Expenditure and Revenues Joint Questionnaire/SERIEE Environmental Protection Expenditure Account: Conversion Guidelines.

Air emissions accounts is based on Regulation (EU) No 691/2011 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 6 July 2011 on European environmental economic accounts (OJ 2011 L 192, p. 1) and Regulation (EU) No 549/2013 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 21 May 2013 on the European system of national and regional accounts in the European Union. The methodological document Manual for air emission accounts -2015 edition prepared by Eurostat, has been used to compile the statistics.
