In 2019, there were 18.3 thousand job vacancies for employees, against 2018, the number of job vacancies decreased by 0.2 thousand (0.9 per cent). Over the year, the number of job vacancies slightly decreased in transport – by 0.2 thousand, construction, information and communication enterprises – by 0.1 thousand each, while increased in industry – 0.2 thousand.

In 2019, the highest number of job vacancies by economic activity was registered in industry – 4.4 thousand (24.2 per cent of the total number of job vacancies), public administration and defence, compulsory social security – 2.6 thousand (14.1 per cent), trade – 2.4 thousand (13.2 per cent).

In 2019, the job vacancy rate in the country stood at 1.4 per cent and was the same as in the previous year. The highest job vacancy rate by economic activity was registered in public administration and defence, compulsory social security – 3.1 per cent, information and communication – 2.1 per cent, in industry – 1.9 per cent, and the lowest – in education – 0.4 per cent, other service, as well as professional, scientific and technical activities – 0.5 and 0.8 per cent respectively.
