In 2021, there were 24.2 thousand job vacancies for employees. Compared to 2020, the number of job vacancies increased by 7.6 thousand (46 per cent). Over the year, the largest increase in the number of job vacancies was recorded in trade (by 1.8 thousand), industry (1.5 thousand), transport and storage (1 thousand) activities.

In 2021, the job vacancy rate in the country stood at 1.8 per cent and was by 0.5 percentage point higher than in the previous year.

In 2021, the highest number of job vacancies by economic activity was registered in industry – 4.4 thousand (18.3 per cent of the total number of job vacancies), transport and storage – 4.1 thousand (16.9 per cent), trade – 3.5 thousand (14.4 per cent).

The highest job vacancy rate by economic activity was registered in public administration and defence, compulsory social security (3.6 per cent), information and communication (3.4 per cent), transportation and storage (2.7 per cent), and the lowest – in education (0.5 per cent) and other service (0.6 per cent) activities.
