Over the past eleven years (in 2009–2019), 679.4 thousand of the resident population changed their permanent place of residence within the country.
Last year, 73.2 thousand country’s residents, or 2.6 per cent of the resident population, changed their permanent place of residence within the country. Against 2018, the number of internal migrants decreased by 3.0 thousand (4 per cent).
The crude arrival/departure rates (the number of arrivals/departures per 1,000 population) decreased from 27.2 in 2018 to 26.2 in 2019.

Over the past eleven years (in 2009–2019), 404.3 thousand of the resident population changed their permanent place of residence to urban areas, and 275.1 thousand – to rural areas.
Last year, more than half (44.3 thousand, or 60.6 per cent) of the country's residents changed their usual place of residence to urban areas, and 28.9 thousand (39.4 per cent) – to rural areas (in 2018, 42.9 thousand, or 56.4 per cent, and 33.3 thousand, or 43.6 per cent respectively).

For the last eleven years (2009–2019), each second resident of the country who has changed his/her usual place of residence within the country was aged 18–39.
In 2019, one-third (33.4 per cent) of all male migrants within the country aged 18 and older were never married, half (50.1 per cent) were married, one-sixth (16.5 per cent) – divorced and widowed (in 2018, 33.2, 46.7 and 20.1 per cent respectively). Last year, 27.6 per cent of all female migrants within the country aged 18 and older were never married, 51.5 per cent were married, 20.9 per cent – divorced and widowed (in 2018, 28.8, 48.1 and 23.1 per cent respectively).
