In 2022, 86 stillbirths were registered (in 2021, 88).

In 2022, 67 infant deaths were registered, i.e. by 6 (8.2 per cent) more than in 2021. The infant mortality rate (the number of infant deaths per 1,000 live births) increased from 3.1 in 2021 to 3 in 2022.

In 2022, more than half (45, or 67.2 per cent) of all infant deaths were deaths in the neonatal period (infants aged 0–27 days). The number of such infant deaths per 1,000 live births stood at 2.

In 2022, according to the data of the Health Information Centre of the Institute of Hygiene, the most frequent causes of infant deaths were diseases of the perinatal period – 27 (40.3 per cent), and congenital anomalies – 27 (40.3 per cent), (in 2021, 37 (50.7 per cent) and 20 (27.4 per cent) respectively).
