In a decade, almost twice as many training places for rowers and horse riders

In 2020, there were changes in the number of training places observed. As regards changes in the longer term, a significant increase was recorded in certain sports. In 2010, there were 10 rowing centres in Lithuania, in 2020 – 17. An increase in the number of riding halls was also recorded: from 13 in 2010 to 23 in 2020. The increase in the number of football fields observed in Lithuania for a decade has stopped: compared to 2019, the number of football fields decreased by 15 and stood at 649. In a decade, the number of swimming pools also increased: in 2010, there were 39 swimming pools in Lithuania, in 2020 – 56. The most significant increase was observed for football maneges: their number grew from 3 in 2012 to 10 in 2020. However, not only an increase has been observed: in 2020, compared to 2019, the number of stadiums decreased by 20, but 28 halls and 22 artificial sports grounds were additionally equipped.

Lithuanian association Sportas Visiems (Sport for All) is a non-governmental organisation established in 1991 which, on a voluntary basis, unites national public organisations registered with the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Lithuania which are engaged in physical education, sports and tourism, and develop health-promoting physical culture and amateur sports.

The main goals of the association –  to achieve public welfare through physical culture and sports, strengthening people's health, promoting a healthy lifestyle, organizing physical culture, non-professional sports and recreation events for people of all ages.

Sports for people with disability

Involvement of people with disability in sports significant decreased. In 2019, compared to 2018, the number of legal entities involved in the activity of the sport federation for the disabled decreased by 35.

Although the number of organizations has increased by one in the last year, the number of high mastery sports competitions for the disabled has decreased by 22 per cent, the number of participants – by 33 per cent.
