The statistical job vacancies survey has been carried out since 2005. The aim of the survey – to produce and publish statistical information on the number of job vacancies and occupied posts and their distribution by economic activity. The survey is conducted applying a sampling method. The sample of enterprises represents the national economy in a breakdown by economic activity. Data are collected from all enterprises, institutions and organizations, irrespective of the kind of entity and form of ownership.

Annual earnings

The annual indicators of labour statistics are calculated using data from the quarterly survey on earnings and those obtained from the State Social Insurance Fund Board under the Ministry of Social Security and Labour (Sodra). Economic activities defined in sections A to S of the national version (EVRK Rev. 2) of the Statistical Classification of Economic Activities in the European Community (NACE Rev. 2), approved by Order No DĮ‑226 of 31 October 2007 of the Director General of Statistics Lithuania, are covered. Employees of all enterprises, institutions and organisations, irrespective of the kind of entity and form of ownership, working under an employment contract and receiving remuneration, irrespective of the type of work done, working time duration (full- or part-time) and type of the contract (fixed- or non-term), are covered. In addition, statutory civil servants, state politicians and state officials, other civil servants, etc. are covered. The number of employees does not include women on maternity leave, persons on parental leave before the child is three years of age, persons working under a verbal, copyright agreement or other civil contracts, persons holding a business certificate, managers paid only from the profit, etc. For the estimation of the annual statistical indicators of earnings, a relative statistical sum and ratio estimator is used. The SAS module CLAN is used for the calculation of estimates and errors.

Statistical survey on labour costs

The purpose of the estimation of labour costs is to prepare and publish information on labour costs per hour worked and per employee incurred by an employer and their structure in the whole economy by economic activity (section level). All the indicators of labour costs, hours worked and the number of employees required for the estimation of labour costs in the whole economy are calculated on the basis of the quarterly statistical sample survey on earnings and Sodra data.
