Over the past ten years (in 2013–2022), 694.7 thousand country’s residents changed their permanent place of residence within the country.

Last year, 91.9 thousand country’s residents (3.2 per cent of the resident population) changed their permanent place of residence within the country. Against 2021, the number of internal migrants increased by 27.2 thousand (42 per cent).

The crude arrival/departure rates (the number of arrivals/departures per 1,000 population) increased from 23.1 in 2021 to 32.5 in 2022.

Over the past ten years (in 2013–2022), 401.8 thousand country’s residents changed their permanent place of residence to urban areas, and 292.8 thousand – to rural areas.

Last year, more than half (50.4 thousand, or 54.9 per cent) of the country's residents changed their usual place of residence to urban areas, and 41.5 thousand (45.1 per cent) – to rural areas (in 2021, 36.1 thousand, or 55.8 per cent, and 28.6 thousand, or 44.2 per cent respectively).

In 2022, 43.8 per cent of all male migrants within the country aged 18 and older were never married, 41 per cent – were married, 15.2 per cent – divorced and widowed (in 2021, 35.4, 47 and 17.6 per cent respectively). Last year, 33 per cent of all female migrants within the country aged 18 and older were never married, 44.8 per cent – were married, 22.2 per cent – divorced and widowed (in 2021, 31.3, 45.2 and 23.5 per cent respectively).
