In 2022, the main share (37.7 per cent) of waste generated was used on farms. Heat treatment and incineration clinker and ash and green residues accounted for its major portion treated on the farms. 26.8 per cent of the waste generated was delivered to waste managers; glass and plastic packaging waste accounted for its major portion. 15.8 per cent of the waste generated was delivered to other users, a substantial part of it – forest felling residues waste. A certain portion of waste was incinerated – most often, for energy generation. Total share of incinerated waste, generated in agriculture, forestry and fisheries, stood at 4.1 per cent, mainly – wood and wood packaging waste. 2.3 per cent of waste generated was disposed on the site on farms, e.g. buried in the ground or tipped in the quarries.
Not all of the waste generated was treated in the same year. By the end of 2022, 13.3 per cent of waste still remained untreated.
