Utilised agricultural land

 

In 2022, utilised agricultural area amounted to 2.9 million hectares. Arable land accounted for the largest share (2.3 million hectares). In 2022, against 2021, utilised agricultural area decreased by 0.9 per cent.

Agricultural crops

 

In 2022, sown area of agricultural crops amounted to 2.2 million hectares. Sown area of farmers’ and family farms made up 83.9, that of agricultural companies and enterprises – 16.1 per cent of total sown area. Compared to 2021, sown area decreased by 0.9 per cent. In 2022, against 2021, grain harvest increased by 7 per cent due to an increase in yield (by 9.1 per cent), although harvested area decreased (by 2 per cent).

Harvest of winter cereals increased by 9.3 per cent. This was determined by an increase in harvested area and yield – by 6.3 and 2.8 per cent respectively. Harvest of spring cereals decreased by 8.3 per cent. This was determined by a 17.1 per cent decrease in harvested area, although yield increased by 10.5 per cent.

A decrease in sugar beet harvest (15 per cent) was determined by a 21.1 per cent decrease in harvested area, although yield increased by 7.1 per cent.

Harvest of orchards and berry plantations in 2022, compared to 2021, increased by 32.4 per cent due to an increase in yield (by 34.3 per cent), although production area decreased by 1.5 per cent.
