Grouping of all persons by level of equivalised disposable income in cash showed that disposable income in cash of persons in the fifth (the richest) income quintile group exceeded that in the first (the poorest) income quintile group 6.1 times. In 2019, the income difference between these two groups was 6.4 times.

6.9 per cent of the total disposable income in cash was recorded in the first income quintile group, 42.3 per cent – in the fifth income quintile group. Compared to 2019, in the first and the fifth income quintile groups, the equivalised disposable income in cash increased by 19.1 and 13.6 per cent respectively.

Social transfers accounted for 70.1 and 9.2 per cent of the disposable income in cash of households in the first and fifth quintile groups respectively, income from paid employment (after taxes) – 24.5 and 64.3 per cent respectively. Compared to 2019, the share of social transfers in disposable income in cash of households in the first quintile group increased by 2.6 percentage points, while the share of income from paid employment – decreased by 1.8 percentage points.
