E-buyers
61 per cent of persons aged 16–74 (68 per cent of internauts in this age group) bought or ordered goods or services via the Internet at least once per 12 months (in 2022, 60 and 68 per cent respectively). E-commerce was used in the period of 3 months before the survey by 48 per cent of the population aged 16–74 (54 per cent of internauts in this age group). Compared to the previous year, the proportion of e‑commerce users increased by 2 percentage points. More than three quarters (78 per cent) of the population aged 25–34 and only 11 per cent of persons aged 65–74 have used e‑commerce in 3 months.

E‑commerce was mostly used to buy goods: clothing, footwear, accessories (31 per cent of the population aged 16–74), cosmetics, beauty or wellness products (16 per cent), to order services: transport services from enterprises (24 per cent), tickets to cultural or other events (20 per cent).

The majority (71 per cent) of persons who bought goods or services online had made up to 5 orders in the last 3 months. Compared to 2021, the share of e-commerce users who made up to 5 orders increased by 2 percentage points, while a decrease was recorded for the share of persons who bought goods or ordered services more than 10 times in the last 3 months.
Most (77 per cent) of persons who bought goods or services online did not face any problems related to purchase of goods or services. The most common problem was longer delivery time than indicated – this problem was faced by 11 per cent of persons using e-commerce. Other common problems indicated: website was difficult to use or it worked unsatisfactorily (7 per cent), wrong or damaged goods delivered, or difficulties in finding information concerning guarantees and other legal rights (5 per cent each).
Based on the 2023 survey data, in the period of 3 months before the Survey, the Internet was used for financial purposes by 23 per cent of the population aged 16–74. Insurance policies were those the most frequently purchased or renewed. This service was used by 22 per cent of persons. The Internet was used to receive a loan or credit from the bank or other financial service provider by 4 per cent of persons. Shares, bonds or fund products were the least frequently purchased (2 per cent).
