Utilised agricultural land

 

In 2019, agricultural land utilised by agricultural producers amounted to 3 million hectares. Arable land accounted for the largest share (2.2 million hectares). In 2019, against 2018, utilised agricultural land area increased by 0.9 per cent.

Agricultural crops

 

In 2019, sown area of agricultural crops amounted to 2.1 million hectares. Sown area of farmers’ and family farms made up 83.8, that of agricultural companies and enterprises – 16.2 per cent of total sown area. Compared to 2018, sown area increased by 7 per cent.

In 2019, against 2018, grain harvest increased by 25.8 per cent due to an increase in yield (by 22.1 per cent) and harvested area (by 3.1 per cent).

Harvest of winter cereals increased by 75.8 per cent. This was determined by an increase in harvested area and yield – by 66.4 and 5.7 per cent respectively. Harvest of spring cereals decreased by 25.4 per cent. This was determined by a 37 per cent decrease in harvested area, although yield increased by 18.7 per cent.

Rape harvest increased by 58.9 per cent due to an increase in yield and harvested area (by 35.1 and 17.7 per cent respectively).

An increase in sugar beet harvest (12.7 per cent) was determined by a 24 per cent increase in yield, although harvested area decreased by 9 per cent.

Harvest of potatoes increased by 13.8 per cent due to a 16.8 per cent increase in yield, although harvested area decreased by 2.6 per cent.
