Utilised agricultural land

 

In 2021, utilised agricultural area amounted to 2.9 million hectares. Arable land accounted for the largest share (2.3 million hectares). In 2021, against 2020, utilised agricultural area decreased by 0.2 per cent.

Agricultural crops

 

In 2021, sown area of agricultural crops amounted to 2.2 million hectares. Sown area of farmers’ and family farms made up 83.9, that of agricultural companies and enterprises – 16.1 per cent of total sown area. In 2021, against 2020, grain harvest decreased by 18.9 per cent due to a decrease in yield (by 18.6 per cent) and harvested area (by 0.4 per cent).

Harvest of winter cereals decreased by 15.2 per cent. This was determined by an decrease in yield and harvested area – by 13.7 and 1.6 per cent respectively. Harvest of spring cereals decreased by 27.8 per cent. This was determined by a 26.1 per cent decrease in yield and a 2.4 per cent decrease in harvested area.

A decrease in sugar beet harvest (9.7 per cent) was determined by a 13.9 per cent decrease in yield, although harvested area increased by 5 per cent.

In 2021, against 2020, harvest of field vegetables increased by 6.4 per cent due to an increase in yield (by 8.5 per cent), although harvested area decreased by 2.4 per cent.
