Dietary habits

 

Adequate consumption of fruit and vegetables can be an excellent prevention measure to reduce the risk of chronic diseases.

 

Almost half (47 per cent) of population ate fruit (including berries), 54 per cent – vegetables at least once a day (in 2014, 48 and 54 per cent respectively). Fruit and vegetables were more often consumed by women.

Fruit and vegetable consumption is more common among persons having high educational attainment level and high income.

  • Vegetables were consumed at least once a day by 61 per cent of population having high educational attainment level (women – 66 per cent, men – 55 per cent).
  • Fruit were consumed at least once a day by 55 per cent of population having high educational attainment level (women – 61 per cent, men – 48 per cent).
