In 2022, turnover (VAT excluded) of enterprises engaged in transportation, accommodation and service activities totalled EUR 37.9 billion at current prices and, compared to 2021, increased by 21 per cent.
In 2022, turnover (VAT excluded) of enterprises engaged in transportation and storage activities totalled EUR 18.4 billion at current prices and, compared to 2021, increased by 23.3 per cent. The largest increase was recorded in air transport as well land transport and transport via pipelines – 93.7 and 24.5 per cent respectively.
In 2022, turnover (VAT excluded) of accommodation enterprises totalled EUR 322.9 million at current prices, or by 68 per cent more than in the previous year.
In 2022, turnover (VAT excluded) of service enterprises totalled EUR 18.9 billion and, compared to 2021, increased by 18.3 per cent. A significant increase in turnover was observed for travel agency, tour operator reservation services and related activities (2.2 times), arts, entertainment and recreation (58.1 per cent), repair of computers, personal and household goods, other personal service activities (45.5 per cent). However, a considerable decrease in turnover (VAT excluded) was recorded in office administrative, office support and other business support activities (31 per cent), information service activities (0.4 per cent).

Statistical information on the past, present or future changes in the economic activities of service enterprises, services confidence indicator, characterising changes and tendencies of services activity has been prepared by applying data of the statistical survey of services enterprises, also known as business opinion survey. Statistical survey is intended for short-term economic analysis and forecast, i.e. to foresee economic activity relations and growth periods, to establish present economic state in the country and trend of business activity changes. More specifically, such data are increasingly used in predicting turning points in the economic cycle.
