Foreign-owned enterprises in Lithuania

In 2020, 6,105 foreign-controlled non-financial enterprises carried out economic activity in Lithuania. Against 2019, the number of non-financial enterprises decreased by 3 per cent and made up about 2 per cent of all non-financial enterprises in the country.
In 2020, there were 173 thousand employees working in foreign-controlled enterprises. Against 2019, the number of employees in foreign-controlled enterprises decreased by 1 per cent and made up about 16 per cent of all employees working in the business sector.
In 2020, income of foreign-controlled non-financial enterprises amounted to EUR 29.8 billion and made up 30 per cent of income of all non-financial enterprises in the country. Against 2019, income of foreign-controlled non-financial enterprises decreased by 8 per cent.
In 2020, the value added (at production costs) generated by foreign-controlled non-financial enterprises amounted to EUR 6.7 billion and made up 26 per cent of the value added generated by all non-financial enterprises in the country. Against 2019, the value added generated by foreign-controlled non-financial enterprises increased by 4 per cent.
