E-buyers
54 per cent of persons aged 16–74 (64 per cent of internauts in this age group) bought or ordered goods or services via the Internet at least once per 12 months (in 2019, 48 and 59 per cent respectively). E-commerce was used in the period of 3 months before the survey by 42 per cent of population aged 16–74 (50 per cent of internauts in this age group). More than two thirds (69 per cent) of population aged 25–34 and only one in nine persons aged 65–74 used e‑commerce in 3 months.
Most (77 per cent) people who bought goods or services online made up to 5 orders in 3 months, 73 per cent of e‑commerce users spent up to EUR 300 in 3 months. Compared to the previous year, the proportion of e‑commerce users grew by 4 percentage points, and an increase in the average number of orders made in 3 months was observed.

E‑commerce was mostly used to buy clothing, footwear, accessories (55 per cent of e‑commerce users), cosmetics, beauty or health products (29 per cent), medicines, food supplements, vitamins (28 per cent), household appliances or electronics (23 per cent), food products and beverages from shops as well as furniture and interior accessories (20 per cent each).

Based on the 2020 survey data, in the period of 3 months before the survey, the Internet was used for financial purposes by 15 per cent of population aged 16–74. Insurance policies were those the most frequently purchased or renewed. This service was used by 13 per cent of persons. The Internet was used to receive a loan or credit from the bank or other financial service provider by 2 per cent of persons; shares, bonds or fund products were the least frequently purchased (1 per cent).
