In 2021, the average household size was 2.1 persons (in urban and rural areas – 2.08 and 2.14 persons respectively). Compared to 2020, the average household size slightly decreased.
Households composed of a single person accounted for 41 per cent of the total number of households. Households composed of couple with at least one child aged less than 25 made up 20 per cent of the total number of households: in urban areas – 21 per cent, in rural areas – 18 per cent. In urban areas, there were more one-parent families, consisting of lone parent with at least one child aged less than 25, while in rural areas – more households composed of one person. In urban areas, households composed of lone parent with at least one child aged less than 25 accounted for 9 per cent, in rural areas – 6 per cent, one-person – 40 and 42 per cent respectively.
