In 2019, bankruptcy processes were instituted in 1,608 enterprises, which is by 23.1 per cent less than in 2018. In 2019, bankruptcy processes were completed in 2,640 enterprises, which is by 8.2 per cent less than in 2018.

The largest proportion of all the bankruptcy processes were instituted in the wholesale and retail trade (28.1 per cent), construction (17.5 per cent) and transportation and storage (10.2 per cent) enterprises. The number of the bankruptcy processes instituted in the wholesale and retail trade enterprises, against 2018, decreased by one third (33.6 per cent).

In 2019, the major share of all the bankruptcy processes was instituted in the enterprises of Vilnius, Kaunas and Klaipėda Counties (40.7, 25.2 and 14 per cent respectively). The number of the bankruptcy processes instituted mostly dropped in Alytus, Marijampolė and Vilnius Counties (48.4, 37.9 and 32.4 per cent respectively). The number of the bankruptcy processes instituted grew in Utena, Tauragė and Šiauliai Counties (22.2, 18.8 and 12.per cent respectively).
